Drone attack strikes temporarily occupied Crimea, Russian authorities claim
Explosions could be heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea as Russian troops were repelling naval drones' attack overnight on July 18, Kremlin-appointed local authorities claimed on Telegram.
Russian Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter (Crimean Wind) reported the explosions on the occupied peninsula, near Novozyornoye, Mirnoye, and Yevpatoria.
Gunfire was also heard in Sevastopol in addition to the explosions.
The Russian forces allegedly repelled all attacks, as always.
"The loud noises heard in the city were our military repelling an attempted surface drone attack," Mikhail Razvozhayev, the so-called Kremlin-appointed Sevastopol governor wrote.
"The drone was destroyed."
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
