Ukrainian pharma leader Farmak announces new representative office in Moldova
Ukrainian Kyiv-based pharmaceutical leader Farmak will open a representative office in Moldova, according to a decision by the company's supervisory board on Sept. 26, as reported by news agency Interfax-Ukraine.
The representative office will be located in Chisinau.
Farmak is the leading pharmaceutical company in Ukraine in terms of revenue. It produces medicines in all 14 therapeutic groups, with key areas including cold remedies, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, and neurology. The company introduces around 20 new complex modern drugs to the market each year. Currently, about 100 medicines are in development.
The ultimate beneficial owner of Farmak is the chairperson of the supervisory board, Filya Zhebrovska, who holds 80% of the company's shares.
Farmak is preparing to register 40 medicines in Southeast Asia over the next few years. Farmak's products are exported to over 50 countries worldwide, including France, Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the UAE, and others.
In 2023, Farmak increased its net profit by 18% compared to 2022, reaching 1.557 billion hryvnias ($42.4 million).
Farmak Pharmaceuticals UK Ltd, a subsidiary of Farmak International from the Ukrainian pharmaceutical group Farmak, completed the acquisition of the British group of pharmaceutical companies A&S Pharma Holdings, which specializes in generics on Sept. 20, 2024.
