A fire broke out near the Ryazan GRES in Russia, reportedly preceded by a "bang," according to the Astra Telegram channel on Aug. 28.

Footage circulating online shows smoke near the Ryazan GRES power station, but local media suggests the images may be from a previous fire involving dry grass.

Authorities initially attributed the smoke to a technical issue, stating the station was operating normally.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations later denied reports of a fire, calling the news fake and claiming the photo was outdated.
