Two weeks after being stripped of Ukrainian citizenship, Former Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov was charged with official negligence on Oct. 28, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne reported, citing unnamed sources.

Local Odesa media earlier said the charges relate to an allegation of official negligence and that searches were also conducted at homes and offices of several Odesa City Council employees. Reporters said Trukhanov received the charge sheet in the parking lot of the Ark Spa complex in the city.

A court could decide on pretrial detention for him on Oct. 29, although officials have not yet confirmed the date.
