On Feb. 9, Ukraine’s 16th Army Corps reported that Defense Forces cleared the village of Chuhunivka in Kharkiv Oblast of Russian troops, took some prisoners and raised the national flag there.

On Feb. 6, the 7th Air Assault Corps communications chief Volodymyr Polevyi said Russian forces had captured key heights in Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, significantly complicating Ukrainian logistics in that part of Donetsk Oblast.

The East troop grouping reported the same day that the enemy was concentrating manpower and heavy equipment for a possible assault on Myrnohrad, but Ukrainian units were holding defensive lines and inflicting fire damage.

Ukrainian forces control the northern part of Pokrovsk and are conducting search-and-assault operations against Russian units in urban areas, the East grouping added.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
