SBU nabs 2 FSB agents preparing strikes on Kyiv Oblast

Ukraine’s SBU Security Service has detained two FSB agents in Kyiv Oblast who were collecting and transmitting coordinates of Ukrainian military units and restricted sites to prepare Russian strikes, the SBU reported on Telegram on Feb. 12.
According to the investigation, the detained individuals tracked and sent the Russians the coordinates of Ukrainian military units, including air bases, recorded the locations of restricted facilities on smartphones, and transmitted the information through messengers.
The investigation established that both suspects were local drug addicts who came to the attention of the FSB while seeking money “for a dose” in specialized Telegram groups.
In exchange for promises of “quick earnings,” they traveled around the region by public transport, walked the perimeters of potential targets, photographed and filmed them while pretending to be on phone calls, and sent the collected information to the FSB, the security service said.
SBU officers documented their activities, detained them and seized smartphones containing evidence of cooperation with the enemy. The suspects have been charged under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (state treason committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law).
They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property and are being held in custody without the possibility of bail, the SBU added.
