Germany summoned China’s
ambassador after reports that Beijing trained Russian soldiers, a German Foreign
Ministry source told Reuters
on July 3.
“Anything that enables Russia to continue its war of aggression against Ukraine also threatens our security,” the source said.
“Consequently, China’s decisive and growing support for Russia’s brutal war of aggression directly impacts our security.”
The statement came two days after Reuters reported that China secretly trained Russian forces last year with the personal approval of Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov. The training reportedly directly involved at least four Russian and Chinese generals.
In May, Reuters reported
that about 200 Russian service members secretly trained in China in late 2025,
and that some later returned to fight in Ukraine.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
