Central heating restored to Kyiv’s Troieshchyna district, deputy minister says

After a series of devastating Russian missile attacks on local infrastructure, central heating supply to Kyiv’s Troieshchyna district was restored by Feb. 9, Deputy Development Minister Aliona Shkrum said in a Facebook post.
“Along with the European Union ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, we visited Troieshchyna, one of the districts hardest hit by Russian strikes on heat generation facilities,” Shkrum wrote.
“On the ground, we saw the main thing: heating supply in Troieshchyna has been restored.”
She credited the around-the-clock work of repair crews. A total of 176 teams, comprising 840 workers, carried out the repairs. Of these, 83 teams with 345 workers were drawn from other regions and Ukrainian Railways.
“Even after restoring heat, buildings need time to warm up, sometimes several days,” the officials added.
“Crews are also defrosting pipes in individual buildings and fixing local breakdowns.”
Troieshchyna is home to an estimated 500,000 to 700,000
residents. In January, it lost all heating when Russian attacks knocked Kyiv’s
CHP-6 (combined heat and power) plant.
