Ukraine will not be defeated or destroyed - HUR chief
Despite tough times ahead for Ukraine, the country has
overcome similar challenges in the past and will succeed again, Ukrainian
Intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with BBC on April 22.
“Ukraine will not lose and Ukraine will not be destroyed,”
he stated.
“Understanding of this is a must.”
He added that coming period will be difficult, but “difficult
and catastrophic are different things.”
“We have already gone through difficult periods several
times, and we will go through this one, believe me,” Budanov said.
“Nothing extraordinary will happen.”
The HUR chief pointed out that all Russian plans are known
in advance and there is an answer to “how to respond to them?” question.
“There is an answer to most of them,” Budanov concluded.
“Yes, there are certain issues that will be difficult
for us to crack, but we will find an answer. As always, we will come up with
something at the last moment.”
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
