HUR cyberattack paralyzes Crimean Bridge traffic
For a second consecutive day, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence
(HUR) is attacking Russia’s communications infrastructure in occupied Crimea, a
source in the agency told NV on June 27.
The source said that following yesterday’s damage to the infrastructure of local internet service providers, HUR cyber specialists are now targeting servers of Russian propaganda media, communication operators, and the registration and traffic control systems at the illegally constructed Crimean Bridge.
The disruption is exacerbated by widespread phishing attacks on local internet users and disruptions in digital accounting services, which has left stores in Kerch and Sevastopol with malfunctioning cash registers.
According to our source, due to the damage to the registration and traffic control system, there is now a long queue of vehicles at the Crimean Bridge. Within an hour, the traffic jam grew sixfold, and by this morning, around 300 cars were waiting in line.
Finally, propaganda outlet Kerch FM and local mobile operator Miranda-Media are under a major distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. Miranda-Media provides trunk communication channels for the public call center of the occupation administration in Sevastopol.
