An infrastructure facility was damaged Kyiv Oblast as a result of a massive Russian night attack by Iranian kamikaze drones, Oleksiy Kuleba, head of Kyiv oblast administration, reported on Telegram on Jan. 1.
In total, almost three dozen drones were fired at the oblast, Kuleba said. He said Russia had targeted the region’s energy infrastructure.
“Preliminarily, there were no casualties. There is damage to an infrastructure object. Emergency services worked all night at the scenes of the incidents,” Kuleba wrote.
There were air raid alerts across the entire country on New Year’s Eve, and the Russian military attacked the capital Kyiv and its surrounding oblast with rockets and kamikaze drones.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported the destruction of 45 enemy Shahed flying bombs.
According to the capital’s authorities, air defense forces destroyed 32 enemy aerial targets in Kyiv in the early hours of Jan. 1.
