Iranian drones strike high-rise and residential area in Dubai

Iranian drones attacked Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, damaging a high-rise building and a nearby house close to the city center, with no casualties reported, Bloomberg said on March 12.
On the evening of March 11, residents of Dubai received at least two missile alerts. Local authorities reported that a drone struck a skyscraper in a new residential complex near Dubai Creek Harbour, located about 8 km from Dubai International Airport, Sky News reported.
Emergency services quickly brought under control a fire that broke out after the attack on the building. No casualties were reported.
On the morning of March 12, local authorities reported a “new incident” involving drones. Bloomberg wrote that debris from an Iranian drone fell onto the facade of a building in the Al Badaa residential district near the city center. Dubai authorities said there were no casualties.
Due to the attacks, airports in Dubai and the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh temporarily suspended operations. Passengers at Dubai International Airport were forced to take shelter because of the drone threat for about 30 minutes. According to Flightradar24, commercial aircraft circled over Riyadh overnight and were unable to land for some time, Bloomberg reported.
Sky News noted that Iran is intensifying strikes on its neighbors, likely to increase pressure on the United States and Israel to end the war.
On March 11, two Iranian drones crashed near Dubai International Airport in the UAE, injuring four people.
According to the Foreign Ministry, as of March 11, airspace remained closed in Kuwait, the UAE, Iran, Iraq and partially in Israel.
