Iranian missiles could threaten Kyiv, Warsaw, Berlin, analysis shows

Iranian
ballistic missiles could reach targets in Europe as far west as Berlin, based
on publicly available specifications, Ukrainian outlet Defense Express wrote on
March 2.
The outlet said Iran’s ruling regime has already launched more than 771 ballistic missiles and more than 906 drones in attacks on Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel, and that Tehran has used drones to strike an RAF base in Cyprus.
Defense Express focused on liquid-fueled Iranian missiles: Khorramshahr, Sejjil, Ghadr, and Emad.
“Their flight range and warhead mass are widely known thanks
to Iranian comms, and, while the figures may be inflated, would be enough to
attack targets around 2,000 km away,” the article said.
The report says the Khorramshahr is reported to carry a warhead weighing about 1,800 kg at a range of about 2,000 km.
“With a lighter warhead, this missile supposedly could reach up to 3,000 km,” Defense Express wrote. For the Emad, Ghadr, and Sejjil, the outlet gave warhead estimates of 750–850 kg and ranges of about 1,700–2,000 km.
From northwest Iran, the report said, these IRBMs could
reach Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania (which host U.S. military bases) and could
also hit Ukraine and Moldova. If the Khorramshahr can actually fly 3,000 km
with a reduced warhead, Defense Express said, “a large part of Europe,” including
Berlin and Rome, could be in range.
