Israeli PM Netanyahu announces war against Hamas terror group
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that his country is at war with Hamas in his first video address since the Palestinian terror group launched a massive terror attack on Oct. 7.
“We are at war — not in an operation, not in rounds — at war, […] The enemy will pay a price like they have never known before,” Netanyahu said.
There are reports of dozens of deaths and at least 300 wounded after Hamas militants crossed into Israeli territory in the early hours of this morning, reportedly taking control of several communities in southern Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant previously announced a “state of war alert” in the southern regions of Israel within 80 kilometers of the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7 morning after militants from Gaza fired a deadly barrage of rockets and sent gunmen into Israeli territory.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
