Kellogg supports Ukraine expanding mobilization to include women

Kellogg supports the idea of Ukraine extending general mobilization to include
women, he said in an interview with Naspravdi MAX YouTube
channel on Aug. 24.
In the interview, Kellogg said he considers women’s military service an important part of civic duty.
He cited his own family as an example, saying his daughter graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and served in Afghanistan, while his wife was an airborne soldier who took part in combat operations in Grenada.
“So do I believe women should be mobilized into the army? My answer is yes, because they fight no worse than men,” Kellogg said.
“It is very important for women, as part of society, to serve. So, both personally and professionally, I see no problem with it.”
He said his daughter travels to Ukraine often because “she is fearless.”
On Aug. 20, former Defense Minister (2021–2023) Oleksii Reznikov said military duty in Ukraine should apply equally to all citizens, including men and women.
On Aug. 23, Roman Kostenko, chair of the parliamentary
Defense Committee, said Ukrainian authorities were preparing “radical” changes
to the mobilization process, including changes to the draft age.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
