Russian invasion forces shelled Kherson Oblast 77 times in the past 24 hours, injuring three people, regional governor Yaroslav Yanushevych reported on Telegram on Jan. 9.

The invaders shelled the city of Kherson itself 21 times and damaged residential houses and apartment buildings, Yanushevych said, noting that Russian forces are continuing to strike residential neighborhoods with artillery and multiple rocket launchers.

Additionally, Russian forces shelled the center of the town of Beryslav on Jan. 2, striking a market and injuring five people.

As a result of Russian attack, the city of Kherson was left without power on New Year's Eve. One person was killed and another one injured in an overnight attack on Dec. 31.

The governor also reported that a pediatric hospital was damaged by Russian shelling, where seven impacts were recorded. The hospital indicated that 700 windows across facilities on the hospital campus were blown out by the strikes.
