The Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant's unit has been brought back to its maximum operational capacity following the completion of reconstruction, Ukraine’s national nuclear energy company Energoatom reported on Facebook.

One of the units at the plant was restored and restarted two weeks ahead of schedule.

Energoatom management expressed gratitude to the experts who promptly and efficiently carried out the repair works, thereby reducing the restoration period of the power unit.

"This holds particular importance given Russia's ongoing threats towards Ukraine’s energy system," Energoatom chairperson Petro Kotin said.
