SBU nabs Russian agent plotting strikes on Ukrainian military convoys in Kirovohrad Oblast
Ukraine’s SBU Security Service has apprehended a Kropyvnytskyi resident suspected of aiding the Russians in plotting a missile strike on the railway infrastructure of Kirovohrad Oblast, the SBU reported on Telegran on May 10.
The suspect attempted to install a webcam near one of the bridges to monitor the "schedules" of military equipment convoys, the case materials suggest. He purportedly planned to transmit the gathered information to the Russians to aid in their strike preparation.
The Russians aimed to disrupt the supply of weapons and ammunition to the front lines of the eastern and southern fronts through this scheme.
The Kropyvnytskyi resident has been detained and taken into custody. Law enforcement officials have informed him of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), which carries a maximum penalty of up to 12 years of imprisonment.
