However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not directly confirm the occupation of Kurakhove in their nightly summary on Jan. 10. According to the military, Russian forces attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 61 times during the day, including near Andriyivka and Kurakhove on the Pokrovsk front. The enemy is reported to have suffered significant losses.

The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War reported on Dec. 27 that Russian forces had likely captured Kurakhove after two months of intense offensive operations. The following day, DeepState refuted this information but acknowledged Russian advances within the settlement.

Spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational ans Strategic Troop Grouping Viktor Trehubov stated on Jan. 10 that Russian forces are attempting to drive Ukrainian Defense Forces out of Kurakhove, but Ukrainian military personnel are holding the Kurakhove TPP.

According to the regional military administration, approximately 300 people remain in Kurakhove.
