Ukraine eyes several locations for second Global Peace Summit, says Foreign Ministry

Ukraine is currently considering several possible locations for the second Global Peace Summit, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhiy Tykhyi said on July 30, according to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
“The process is still ongoing, and several venues are being considered,” he said without providing any further details.
“We cannot prematurely reveal all the cards while the diplomatic process is still ongoing.”
Kyiv maintains its position on the potential involvement of Russia in the summit. Ukraine has always been committed to peace, but it must be a fair and just peace.
“The question is not to bring Russia to the negotiating table, but to conduct these negotiations in good faith. Two factors are really important here: pressure on the battlefield and pressure in the international arena. These are two components,” Tykhyi said.
Second Ukrainian Global Peace Summit
Swiss Foreign Ministry on June 16 said that the next peace summit for Ukraine could be organized before the US presidential election in November. Prior to that, President Zelenskyy said that the next peace summit would take place in a few months, as it is necessary to move towards peace quickly.
The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak on June 15 said that Russian representatives could attend the second peace summit.
On June 21, the President's Office announces that Ukraine wants to hold a second peace summit by the end of 2024.
Speaking to journalists in Brussels, Zelenskyy on June 27 said that Ukraine will prepare a plan to resolve the war by the second peace summit.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin on July 11 said that Russia will not participate in the second Global Peace Summit.
