The Lviv Regional Military Administration has banned employees from using Telegram on official devices, according to its website on Oct. 11.

The Lviv Regional Military Administration restricted the use of Telegram on official devices, prohibiting its installation and the exchange of official information through the platform.

"We fully support this decision as securing information systems and data is a priority during wartime.

Limiting Telegram use will help reduce cyber threats from the enemy," the administration stated.

The administration also checked its devices for the app and provided guidance to staff and local communities.

The ban, however, does not affect official Telegram channels used for public communication.
