Russian forces struck Ukraine overnight into March 8 with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, and 145 Shahed UAVs and decoy drones, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram.

Air defenses shot down the Iskander-K missile and 79 drones across Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa oblasts.

Another 54 decoy drones were “lost” from radar, per the Air Force.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
