Russian airbase in Krasnodar Krai under drone attack, authorities say

A massive overnight drone attack on the Krymsk military airfield in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai was reported by local authorities and residents on Nov. 15, the Astra Telegram channel wrote, posting video of the air defense engagement with sounds of explosions. 

Russian Su-27 and Su-30 fighter jets and Ka-27 helicopters are reportedly stationed at the base.

Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratiev confirmed the attack, claiming that “several dozen UAVs” had allegedly been intercepted and that several private houses in the town of Krymsk and the nearby settlement of Poltavskaya had been damaged. No casualties were reported.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that a total of 51 drones had been intercepted overnight, including 36 over Krasnodar Krai, three over occupied Crimea, two over Belgorod Oblast, and another 10 over the Sea of Azov.
