Medvedev threatens EU over plan to bar Russian veterans from Schengen

Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman, war criminal
Dmitry Medvedev, threatened the European Union in response to a proposal by
European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas to bar former Russian servicemen
from entering the Schengen area. He wrote
on X on Feb. 23.
Medvedev used insulting language toward Kallas, calling her
a “blond rat.”
He mocked the proposal, saying it would be a “great loss”
for Russian fighters.
“Well, they can enter there without visas if they want. Like
in 1812 or 1945. Happy Defender of the Fatherland Day!” he wrote.
On Dec. 4, 2025, Medvedev threatened to start a war against
Europe if European Union countries decided to use frozen Russian assets to
finance a reparations loan for Ukraine.
On Feb. 2, he threatened to use nuclear weapons, saying
Russia could resort to them if, in his words, the “fate of the country” were at
stake. He added that Moscow would “act in accordance with its nuclear
doctrine.”
