Moscow mayor reports more drone attacks

Two drones that were flying towards Moscow were “repelled” by air defense in the Domodedovo urban district, said Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin in Telegram on March 17.

According to preliminary data, there is no damage or casualties at the crash site, Sobyanin said, and emergency services are working at the scene.

Over the next hour, he reported two further attacks — in the Ramensky and Stupinsky city districts. In both cases, the mayor claims that the attacks were repelled, and there were no casualties or damage.

Meanwhile, another oil refinery in the Krasnodar Oblast is on fire as a result of a drone attack.

Over the past week, several Russian refineries in different regions have been attacked by drones. Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine confirmed their involvement in some of these attacks in comments to NV.

On March 16, a fire broke out at three oil refineries in Samara Oblast of the Russian Federation, Russian media reported that it was a drone attack.

On March 13, drones attacked Voronezh, Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Leningrad, and Lipetsk oblasts of Russia, as well as an oil refinery in Ryazan, where a serious fire broke out.

On March 12, drones attacked Kursk, Belgorod, Tula, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Bryansk, Leningrad, and Orel oblasts, as well as Moscow. In the city of Orel, explosions were heard near an oil depot where a fire broke out. A Lukoil oil depot in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast was also on fire.
