Ukrainian military prepares several options for upcoming counter-offensive, says Danilov
The Ukrainian military has prepared several options for an upcoming counteroffensive, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) secretary Oleksiy Danilov said in an interview with Azerbaijani news agency Report on May 12.
“There are not one, not two, not three options for the actions of our military – there are several of them,” he said.
“And which of them will be used for a particular operation depends on many factors.”
According to Danilov, if anyone says that they know the location of the operation, then they are lying, because it will only be known after confirmation by the Supreme Commander, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He added that international partners were informed only about general defense issues but not about specific plans to liberate territories.
“When we talk about specific plans, we mean that these plans are closed, secret, and if someone believes that such plans with the ‘Top Secret’ stamp will be disclosed to someone, then this is not the case, and there is no such thing in any country in the world,” the official said.
“General questions – yes, but specific plans – no, they must remain confidential.”
Zelenskyy said on May 12 that Ukraine needs more time to launch a much-anticipated counter-offensive against Russian forces, as the military awaits the delivery of promised aid.
