Russia launched missile attacks on Ukraine, while air defense forces in Mykolayiv Oblast shot down three drones, regional governor Vitaliy Kim announced on Oct. 12.

Vitaliy Kim reported that one of the downed UAVs caused a fire on a farm in the Bashtanka district, with falling fragments igniting dry grass in an open area; all fires were quickly extinguished, and there were no casualties.

On the night of Oct. 12, Russian forces launched several groups of Shahed drones toward Ukraine, triggering air alerts in multiple oblasts and resulting in explosions heard in Sumy and Zaporizhzhya.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
