Number of Russian assaults near Selydove increasing, Ukrainian military says
Russian forces are carrying out a large number of infantry and mechanized attacks on the city of Selydove in Donetsk Oblast, the Ukrainian National Guard reported on Telegram on Oct. 21.
They are regularly supported by three to five armored vehicles.
The Ukrainian 15th Operational Brigade Karadag successfully repelled 17 Russian assaults in the Pokrovsk front sector over the past day, inflicting significant losses on Russian troops with a total of 273 casualties, including 125 killed.
According to an earlier report by the National Guard on Oct. 17, Russian troops are attempting to advance towards the village of Vyshneve on the western outskirts, "betting on the encirclement of Selydove, avoiding urban fighting, and actively pushing the eastern flank to enter the town with infantry groups".
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
