60 drones, 5 missiles downed; explosions hit Kyiv, Sumy, Rivne; casualties in Zaporizhzhya and Rivne
Russian forces launched UAV and missile attacks across Ukraine, with explosions reported in Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Rivne, Sumy, Zaporizhzhya, and Khmelnytskyi on the night of Aug. 27.
Updated: 10:30 a.m. A new Russian attack killed four people and injured 16, President Zelenskyy said.
NV is monitoring the aftermath of a Russian attack on a hotel in Kryvyi Rih on Aug. 26, which killed two people.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with several others injured and at least two more feared trapped.
Across Ukraine, Russian forces launched a massive air attack overnight, using drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles.
Air defenses successfully intercepted many of these, including in Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi, but significant damage and casualties were reported in various oblasts.
