The United States is preparing another security assistance package for Ukraine, which is expected to include more air defense capabilities for the country, the Reuters news agency quoted John Kirby, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, as saying on Dec. 16.
“As you have seen in previous packages, I think you can expect to see additional air defense capabilities in this (assistance package),” he said.
CNN earlier reported that the United States is finalizing a plan to supply at least one Patriot battery to Ukraine, which may be announced later this week.
An unnamed U.S. Department of Defense official later confirmed these reports.
