Next Ramstein meeting on Ukraine defense scheduled for June 18 in Brussels

The next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein format, is scheduled for June 18, Suspilne reported, citing informed sources familiar with the plans on June 1.
The meeting will take place ahead of a gathering of NATO defense ministers in Brussels.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov outlined the key topics of the upcoming session in April. According to him, the main priorities include strengthening air defenses, supporting Ukrainian forces on the battlefield and expanding technological cooperation with partner countries.
The previous meeting was held on April 15 in Berlin at the level of defense ministers from NATO member states.
Attending in person were German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, British Defense Secretary John Healey, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte. The remaining participants joined remotely.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after the meeting that partners had reaffirmed their support for Ukraine and made new contributions to defense programs, including PURL.
The president said five partner countries had confirmed additional contributions to the PURL program.
On the same day, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said countries supporting Ukraine should increase investments to provide an additional $60 billion in military assistance this year, on top of the funding the European Union plans to allocate through its joint loan initiative.
