No US security without Ukrainian victory — Mike Pompeo
In geopolitical terms, the United States cannot be secure without Ukraine prevailing over the Russian invasion, former U.S. Secretary of State and former CIA Director Mike Pompeo said in an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on Sept. 14.
Zakaria was interviewing Pompeo at the 20th annual Yalta European Strategy forum in Kyiv.
Pompeo pushed back on the notion that the United States has become more isolationist in recent years. He suggested that Donald Trump’s campaign slogan "America First" does not imply focusing solely on U.S. domestic interests and disregarding the rest of the world. The former secretary stated that the United States continues to rely on strategic partnerships abroad and engages in dialogue with many other countries, including those concerning Europe and Ukraine.
“Keep in mind that there can be no American security without Ukraine's victory and strong European security,” Pompeo said.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
