Russian forces launched 108 Shahed, jet-powered Shahed, and Gerbera UAVs, along with Parodiya decoy drones, against Ukraine overnight on October 2, the Air Force reported.

As of 08:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses shot down or neutralized 88 enemy UAVs.

UAVs made impact at 11 locations with debris from shot-down targets falling in five locations.

The Air Force warned that the Russian attack was still underway, with multiple Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace.

Russia struck Kyiv’s Southern Bridge with drones again overnight on October 2, shutting down traffic across the critical transit artery following repeated attacks on the structure over a 24-hour window.

A Russian drone also struck a 25-story apartment building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, killing one person and wounding two others.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
