2,526 Ukrainian returned from captivity since start of full-scale invasion, says Zelenskyy
Ukraine has managed to return 2,526 of its citizens from Russian captivity since the start of the full-scale invasion, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on June 12 on Telegram.
“Every time we return out people from Russian captivity, we remember our fundamental goal: to leave nothing of ours, nothing Ukrainian, for the enemy,” he noted.
Zelenskyy further thanked Ukraine’s troops for filling the country’s exchange fund for prisoner transfers.
“We remember everyone, and are looking for every one, everyone should return. And we will return them,” the president stated.
The most recent prisoner transfer was held on June 11. According to presidential chief-of-staff Andriy Yermak, Ukraine returned 95 people from Russian captivity, including Army soldiers, National Guardsmen, and border patrol servicemembers.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
