Over 500 Russian troops, attack helicopter eliminated over past 24 hours

A further 540 Russian soldiers were eliminated in Ukraine over the past 24 hours, Ukraine's General Staff reported in its morning update on Aug. 15.
The report also stated that a Russian attack helicopter was destroyed, without specifying the type.
Total Russian losses in personnel and equipment in Ukraine since Feb. 24, 2022 are now as follows:
- Personnel: 254,920 (+540) confirmed casualties
- Tanks: 4,313 (+7) units
- Combat armored vehicles: 8,370 (+16) units
- Artillery systems: 5,128 (+29) units
- Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS): 714 (+0) units
- Anti-Aircraft Missile Systems: 482 (+3) units
- Aircraft: 315 (+0) units
- Helicopters: 314 (+1) units
- Operational-Tactical UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles): 4,242 (+29) units
- Cruise missiles: 1,387 (+8) units
- Ships/boats: 18 (+0) units
- Military vehicles and tankers: 7,584 (+22) units
- Specialized equipment: 7669(+3) units.
Since the beginning of June, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have undertaken a counteroffensive in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, progressively liberating occupied territories and securing positions on recaptured frontiers.
Ukraine’s successes are a “preview” of a much larger offensive yet to come, said Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
A new phase of Ukraine’s counteroffensive in the south began in late July, reported multiple Western media outlets.
