Fire breaks out in northeastern Chernihiv following overnight Russian airstrike

Russian forces launched an overnight strike on northeastern Chernihiv on August 13, triggering a fire at the scene, the Chernihiv City Council reported.

Casualty figures and the full extent of the damage are still being assessed.

Russian forces launched a massive attack on Chernihiv on August 3, striking the city with drones and Banderol missiles. The attack damaged several businesses, wounded one person with shrapnel, and sparked a fire.

A Russian jet-powered drone struck a local supermarket in Chernihiv on July 26, killing two people, including a 10-year-old girl. Another two UAVs targeted a service station and a warehouse, injuring 25 people.
