The Polish military has begun installing additional fortifications on the border with Belarus, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said in a Twitter post on March 9.

The minister also noted that similar work was previously done on the border with Russia’s Kaliningrad enclave, back in February.
“Today, military service members started building fortifications on the border with Belarus,” said Blaszczak.
“This is a part of our national defense and containment strategy.”
He also posted some photos of the construction, including the installation of anti-tank barriers.
