Poland will eventually seek its own nuclear weapons, PM says

As the United States wavers in its commitment to European
security, Warsaw will ultimately aim to develop an independent
nuclear deterrent, Polish PM Donald Tusk said on March 3, Bloomberg reported.
“Poland takes nuclear security very seriously,” Tusk said.
“As our autonomous capabilities grow, we will strive to prepare Poland for the most autonomous actions possible in this matter in the future.”
He added that the government will continue to invest in nuclear energy.
On March 2, French President Emmanuel Macron announced an
expansion of France’s nuclear arsenal and offered other European states a
nuclear sharing program to bolster collective security in the region.
