Russian forces carried out a series of airstrikes with precision-guided bombs and one-way attack drones on Ukraine's frontline Kherson Oblast overnight, the regional military administration reported on Telegram on Sept. 17.

An invincibility point and several residential buildings were destroyed in a settlement in the Beryslav district. Fires broke out at the impact sites. Fortunately, "there were no casualties among the residents."

Enemy forces also targeted the administrative center of Kherson with a drone at about 4 a.m. EET. Debris from the downed drone damaged a garage cooperative in the city center, injuring two security guards. They were hospitalized in moderate condition.

The same night, Russia launched drone strikes against energy infrastructure in Ukraine's Sumy Oblast. The regional military administration reported that the Konotop, Okhtyrka, and Sumy districts were hit in the attack, leaving some 281,000 residents without power.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
