Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which he shared details of Russia's contacts and negotiations with the United States, Russian state media reported on Feb. 24, citing the Kremlin.

Xi expressed support for dialogue between Russia and the United States and reiterated China's readiness to assist in finding peaceful resolutions to the war in Ukraine.

Xi Jinping described China and Russia as "good neighbors" and "true friends."

“No matter how the international situation changes, China-Russia relations will move forward calmly, help the development and revitalization of each other, and inject stability and positive energy into international relations,” the message published by Xinhua News Agency reads.

Putin and Xi Jinping also confirmed the schedule of upcoming summit meetings in connection with the May 9 celebrations in Moscow, Russian propagandists write.

Previously, on Feb. 18, the first talks between the United States and Russia since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, lasting 4.5 hours. Both sides described the discussions as positive, reaching several agreements on cooperation.

On Feb. 22, U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Witkoff stated that America is "very close" to achieving a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia, indicating that "each side will make concessions, whether territorial or economic."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt conveyed President Donald Trump's confidence in his ability to broker a deal with Russia to end the war as early as next week.

However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed skepticism, stating that restoring peace this week is impossible. Meanwhile, the Kremlin claimed to have no information on the matter.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
