A crashed Robinson helicopter was found in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia, with all passengers on board dead - they could be Russian FSB officers, the Russian East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office reported on July 22.

The Robinson R44II helicopter crashed on July 19, the emergency radio beacon was activated on the aircraft. The helicopter was carrying a pilot and three passengers, according to the Russian prosecutor's office.

The search for the helicopter was complicated by the difficult accessibility of the location due to the mountainous terrain and low cloud cover. Robinson was found "in a completely destroyed state," the Prosecutor's Office claimed on the morning of July 22.  The bodies of the pilot and three passengers were also found.

Three FSB officers were on board the helicopter, Radio Svoboda reported, citing local media. Robinson was performing an unregistered flight in the Aldansky district, and after the emergency beacon was activated, the contact with it was lost.

A Robinson R-66 helicopter also crashed in Russia on June 21 — in Amur Oblast. The pilot and three passengers died. The increasing number of air crashes in Russia is linked to Western sanctions, banning components supplies to Russia.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
