Russia hits Ukraine with 107 drones, 74 downed by air defenses
Russian forces launched 107 Shahed attack drones and decoy UAVs against Ukraine overnight into June 30, starting at 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on June 29, with Ukrainian air defenses neutralizing 74, according to the Ukrainian Air Force’s report on Telegram.
The aggressor deployed drones from five directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea.
Anti-aircraft defenses shot down 64 drones across northern, eastern, and southern Ukraine, with an additional 10 lost to radar or suppressed by electronic warfare.
The Russian drone strike primarily targeted Donetsk and Kharkiv oblasts, with hits recorded at 15 locations and debris from downed drones falling at two sites.
Earlier on June 30, reports indicated Russian drone attacks on Kharkiv Oblast sparked fires in three settlements. In the town of Pisochyn, eight people, including a child, were injured.
