After attempting to conquer the Donbas, Russian military may again try to seize Kyiv, the deputy chief of staff of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, general Oleksandr Hruzevych, said in a briefing on April 7.

“The situation remains tense; the enemy has shifted focus and will soon try to establish control over Donbas, after which we should expect another attack on the capital (Kyiv),” said Hruzevych.

According to the general, Ukraine’s Armed Forces are extending the defensive perimeter around Kyiv and surrounding areas.

“There is a certain lull in Kyiv Oblast, but not for our troops,” he said.

“We’re actively training our reserves, training our Territorial Defense Force regiments, preparing them for action.”
