Russia launches 72 drones and an Iskander-M missile at Ukraine in major overnight air assault

Russian forces launched an overnight attack on Ukraine on
Nov. 28 using one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 72 combat drones — including
Shaheds, Geran-class, and others — Ukraine’s Air Force said. Air defense units shot down or
jammed 63 of the drones.
The Iskander-M missile was fired from Russian-occupied
Crimea, while the drones came from the Russian cities of Oryol, Bryansk, and
Millerovo, according to the report.
Ukrainian defense forces — including fighter jets,
anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, drone operators, and
mobile fire groups — repelled the assault.
Preliminary data show that 63 drones were destroyed or
disabled over northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
The Air Force reported confirmed impacts of the ballistic
missile and nine drones in five locations. Debris also fell in a sixth area.
Air raid alerts were issued across several oblasts during
the night due to the threat of ballistic missile strikes from the northeast.
