Several airborne regiments of the Russian army are being redeployed from Belarus to the Russian city of Belgorod, Ukraine’s General Staff said in a Facebook post on April 4.
Moscow is concluding the regrouping of its troops to Ukraine’s north, getting ready to redeploy some of them to Russia, close to eastern Ukraine, the message reads.
“According to our data, cargo planes are carrying some airborne regiments of the invading forces to Belgorod,” the General Staff said.
“In order to slow the advance of our Armed Forces, the occupiers have mined some of the areas they held until recently, as well as the routes of their retreat.”
Russian troops maintain their stranglehold around Kharkiv, continue to shell the city’s residential areas, and are attempting to regroup, the General Staff said.
However, Moscow’s attempts to launch another offensive near Izyum were have been unsuccessful.
In the east, Russia is preparing for an offensive towards Severodonetsk and Velyka Novoselka in the coming days, according to the General Staff’s message.
The enemy’s assault on Mariupol is ongoing, with heavy use artillery and air power.
The invaders are focused on holding their positions near Oleksandrivka, and are attempting to capture the entirety of Kherson oblast.
