Russia launches overnight attack on Ukraine with ten Shahed flying bomb drones – Ukrainian Air Force
The Russian military launched ten Iranian Shahed-136 drones in an attack in the early hours of Aug. 10, with air defense units downing seven of them, a Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson has said.
The origin of the drone attack was identified as being in the vicinity of the Russian city of Kursk, to the northeast of Ukraine. The hour-long attack by the slow-moving flying bomb drones lasted from 11 p.m. on Aug. 9 to 4 a.m. on Aug. 10.
Anti-aircraft-guided missiles and small arms were utilized by air defense units to shoot down the drones.
An oil depot in the town of Dubno in the west of the country was destroyed during the nighttime attack, according to Vitaliy Koval, the Head of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration. No casualties were reported from the attack.
Meanwhile, over the past twenty-four hours, the Ukrainian Air Force has conducted more than forty sorties, with twenty of them targeted at enemy facilities, equipment, and personnel, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
