Russian brutal drone barrage rips through Kyiv’s, torching houses
At least four people were hospitalized with injuries after a massive Russian drone attack on densely populated areas of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram early on June 10.
There are numerous reports of widespread damage, fires and partial destruction of residential high-rise apartment buildings, private houses, offices, warehouses, and cars in the city’s Solomyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Obolonskyi, Darnytskyi, Holosyivskyi, Desnyanskyi, and Podilskyi districts.
Emergency efforts are underway. A helicopter is assisting with firefighting efforts at one of the sites.
The extent of the damage to residential and civilian infrastructure is being assessed.
The attack have also caused disruptions to the city's public transportation, some bus and troleybus routes have been diverted.
Heavy black smoke covers several districts of Kyiv.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
