Russia hits Zhytomyr power grid again

Russian forces carried out the second consecutive attack on Zhytomyr Oblast’s critical infrastructure in two days, regional Governor Vitalii Bunechko reported on Telegram on Jan. 12.
The fires at the site of the strike have been extinguished.
Emergency repair efforts are underway. Energy services and local authorities are assessing the full extent of the damage.
Earlier, on Jan. 11, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that there had not been a single day without attacks on energy facilities and other critical infrastructure over the past week. Forty-four attacks were recorded in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Kherson oblasts.
