Russia to require more than 250,000 students to complete drone systems course

Russia will introduce a mandatory basic unmanned systems
course at all transport universities starting Sept. 1, 2026, Ukraine’s Center
for Countering Disinformation reported.
“The program covers 19 specialized universities and 86
branches across the country. This means that at least 150,000 university
students — and more than 250,000 young people when colleges are included — will
now be required to learn skills that the aggressor state seeks to later use in
the war against Ukraine,” the center said.
The center said such steps by Russian authorities again show
that Moscow has no real interest in education or human development.
“The state does not need qualified specialists capable of
critical thinking. Russia’s education system today functions solely as a
conveyor belt that turns students into an obedient personnel resource and
‘cannon fodder’ for the war,” the statement said.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
