An energy facility in the suburbs of Nizhyn, Chernihiv Oblast, has been severely damaged by a Russian strike, the regional energy company Chernihivoblenergo JSC reported shortly after midnight on Oct. 20.

Nearly 3,000 households and businesses are without power.

“The damage is very extensive. Energy workers are at the site. We are doing everything we can to restore power to our customers as quickly as possible,” the company said.

Emergency efforts are ongoing. There have been no reported casualties.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
